A trip to the South of France

Created by Ann 3 years ago

Jo Cleall reminded us of a story about a trip to the South of France when she was a teenager.  She was travelling with Joanna, Margaret and John and they stayed at a B & B on the way down.  However, when they arrived John discovered he had left his shirts at the previous accommodation and had to drive all the way back to collect them, much to his frustration and the amusement of the girls.  No doubt, there was much colourful language at the time !!

Our first trip to Italy:

Geoff and I remember our first trip to Dissaco when we had tried to contact M & J that we were on our way, failed to get any connection.  So with Margaret's clear instructions we were able to find our way and hiked up the hill to their house dragging our bags, only to be greeted at a closed metal gate by a surprised John - who was sitting at the table with Joanna in the garden - with " There's two 'derrs' at the gate " but failing to get up and let us in !  Fortunately, Joanna was on the ball and let us in.
