A memory from Italy

Created by Elizabeth 3 years ago

We only met a few times but once stands out in my mind. It was in Italy at a little daycare centre party where my boys were playing with Joanna’s boys. As the kids chattered away, our group of adults stopped talking and focused intently on their conversation. We then realized we were all listening for the same thing – the language the kids had chosen to use! Later on, when I was doing my MA in Linguistics, Prof Carter was very helpful while I planned my essay in Corpus Linguistics and I greatly appreciated his insight and encouragement. I know he will be greatly missed here in Italy but I also know the memories he created with his family will be treasured forever.
